British-American fantasy film based on Greek mythology. Jason, rightful heir to the kingdom of Thessaly, sets off in search of the magical golden fleece in the hope it will help him restore his domain. He must contend with the whims of the gods of Olympus and various monstrous creatures he encounters on his voyage. Special effects by Ray Harryhausen, who thought this was his best work - Tom Hanks agrees, and is on record as saying 'Jason and the Argonauts is the greatest film ever made'.
