I was going to give it 3.5 stars until that bit at the end, which boosted it up half a star--just because I didn't expect it. I can't go into details without ruining it, which would be a shame because I thought it was well thought out and written.

A nice short story with slight BDSM themes.

great start to the series.
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

I have a soft spot for male/male romances, and a soft spot for BDSM books. Stick the two together, and you have a sure fire winner!

What I particularly enjoyed about this one, was that Kyle had, up to now, no interest in the BDSM world! His friend, Marshall, recommended him to his previous Master's new business venture, a club. Kyle is a master at BDSM hardwear; crosses, benches and the like but has no interest in using them, he just makes them. He tells himself this often enough, he'll begin to believe it! That is, until he comes face to face with Gavin. Kyle can no longer deny his feelings. Gavin is Sir, Master to his subs. He believes in the full and total submission of his subs. Kyle pushes ALL of Gavin's buttons and then some!

Master Josh, and Master Derek are joint business partners with Gavin, and we get a little, but not much, insight into their lives. I'm hoping that somewhere along the way we will get more of Master Josh and his partner, his sub, David. Master Derek has his story up next.

What I also really liked, and, being honest here, cos you know I gotta say, was this: the relationship moves at SPEED between Master Gavin and Kyle. Ordinarily, I wouldn't like that, more so in a BDSM book, but it felt right and proper for Master Gavin to fall so utterly in love with the shy sweet man that is Kyle.

Laying down of future books happens too, and I can't wait to read them! I have a feeling that all these guys, those we have already met, and those we haven't, are going to fall in love fast and deep and HARD and I cannot wait!

I've read a couple of Ms Knight's books before, I like the way she concentrates more on the emotions involved in BDSM, rather than the actual physical parts.

Great start to the series!

4 solid stars

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I made no guarantee of a favorable review.

I enjoyed reading this BDSM book. Full of twists with a steady pace, unforgettable characters and the graphic sex scenes were simply "HOT BLOODED." The author's writing style sweeps you up and transports you right into the story line. I will definitely be reading more of Ms. SaFleur's work.

Barely there entertainment value
The writing is terrible - it sounds like she writes the same sentence structure over and over again...and consults a thesaurus every other sentence when it just isn't necessary. It's also a disgrace to the BDSM community as it is not an accurate depiction of the lifestyle at all. That said, it does have a "one chapter before bed" entertainment value....barely.

I finished this book and its sequel a week or so ago. They didn't make enough of an impression to compel me to write about them at the time. However, one issue has stuck with me, so I decided to go back and write about it briefly.

Jenna Black has absolutely NO understanding of BDSM, and she has done a disservice to those who do practice it. I am not an authority on the subject, but I have some exposure, and none of the activity she describes rings true. She doesn't even understand the equipment! That seriously damages her standing as a writer, as far as I'm concerned. There's more than enough information available to anyone who wants to do the research, and it wouldn't have been too difficult for her to find serious practitioners to critique the BDSM content had she cared to do so.

I still don't entirely understand the BDSM lifestyle and sometimes reading about it, I'm a little WTF? but because of the romance aspect/serious attraction between these two from the start I was quickly drawn into it. I liked both of them; Nick with his cocky attitude and Spencer with his need to please him in his submissive role.

I'm looking forward to reading more of these books!

I know I recently did a review for another one of Anderson’s novel, but I was able to download this for free and it was a quick read.

I still don’t know how I feel about this novel. I felt like the sex scenes in Claimed were much hotter, but Masks didn’t lack heat. However, she jumped into bed with him so quickly that it was mind-boggling. I am not saying anything against anonymous sex, but it seemed out of character for her. The author spends so many pages enforcing what a mouse she was, and then she has sex with him almost immediately. Honestly, I skipped most of the beginning because it was just Zoe and Chloe interacting, and it wasn’t very interesting, nor progressive to the storyline.

The synopsis make the novel out to be BDSM erotica, but the closest it comes to BDSM is he ties her to a St Andrew’s Cross (only to immediately untie her) and leather everywhere. I am not saying it shouldn’t be classified as BDSM. Just don’t expect any more than some light bondage.

Not to mention I was annoyed with Zoe. She is a horrible sister and I would furious with her.

All in all, it wasn’t terrible. It came nowhere near the level that Claimed was. Like I said, it was a quick read with a realistic ending that I appreciated.
