Eva and Clive met long ago at one of the parties their fathers held around the holidays. Their fathers had been friends and business associates for quite some time and at one party Eva and Clive had their first kiss. Fast-forward many years later to a chance meeting in the elevator of their mutual building. Now thrown together as someone is trying to manipulate her company, she relies on Clive to help her navigate this new normal.

Chasing Eva is a romantic suspense read continuing in the next 2 books in the series Loving Eva and Killing Eva. This was a first read for this author and overall I enjoyed her writing style. I felt though a little confused as to how Eva didn’t remember kissing Clive (not the most common name) all those years ago. And if Clive knew so much about Eva through the years, didn’t know she was running her fathers company and just a few floors down from his office.

So that aside, this story was an interesting read for me. I haven’t been reading too much in the romantic suspense genre lately (though at one time it was a mainstay) and this one I would classify as more romantic than suspenseful. It gives a good baseline for where Clive and Eva have grown since that first kiss, and how they can come together now and try a relationship. Eva has some self-doubts after seeing some of the women Clive has dated, but in the end he shows her that he has eyes for only her.

This new to me author gets 4 stars for this introduction to her series. I am almost through with Loving Eva and then on to Killing Eva to see how this triology ends. All opinions expressed are my own, no review expectation was given.

Holy smokes! Ms. Harris is a FABULOUS thrilling, suspense author. Her book had it all. I mean all. It had the thrills of suspense, the chilling twists, the roller coaster ups and the breath taking romance that makes up a well rounded, beautifully written romantic suspense novel.

The characters within this book are perfectly chiseled. They are real-to-life and complexly portrayed in this thriller. Nikki, Erika, Tyler and the other secondary characters really pulled me into the heart of the story with them. Every fast paced move, every heart pounding scene truly came to life for me. I loved that!

Ms. Harris had me on the edge of the my seat through this whole book. I read it in one intense sitting! That is how a book is written, that's for sure. She added the perfect amount of messages from God and kept the story line flowing. This story is filled with hope and trusting in Him. You need both in today's world!

While this is not the first book in this series, it wasn't hard to get acquainted with the characters and their stories. But, I will for sure be checking out the first two books in the series as well as looking forward to the next installment! Ms. Harris, you are truly, superbly talented and I give this book a whopping 5 star praise and roof-top-shouting recommendations. <a href="http://cafinatedreads.com/revell-reads-review-pursued-by-lisa-harris/"; target="_blank">This review was originally posted on Cafinated Reads</a>

This is a standalone romantic suspense story that starts off slowly before picking up and maintaining speed.

It tells the tale of Riley, a woman with secrets, who is an FBI officer working on a case that is hitting very close to home. Although she would usually have been taken off the case for being too close, due to who she is (one of the secrets) and what is happening, her supervisor has given her the go-ahead to continue working the case.

I enjoyed reading this book although I personally prefer Lifting The Veil which I have only recently read. I found Sam to be slightly too cocky at the start and his "I know best" attitude. However, once things settled down, I started to like him more.

The story is well executed and thought out. You may or may not guess who the 'bad guy' is but even if you do guess, it doesn't take away any of the enjoyment you get from a well-written story.

Recommended for fans of Contemporary Romance with a pinch of Suspense added.

I received this book from Reading Alley in return for a fair and honest review.

I got to page 182 when I just had to stop - the book wasn't totally horrible but I didn't like it. I didn't hate or love, like or dislike either Annie or Rafe, which in a romance I need to like at least one of them to keep reading. Annie was a personality that changed; one second she's a strong, independent woman, the next a simpering, dependent, and insecure girl. I hate when authors make characters go from one extreme to another like that. The plot and pacing were rather slow and not that interesting either. The thing I disliked the most was the loves scenes, if you can even call them that. They felt weird and wrong, were disturbing, and not romantic in the least. I think that covers my main reason for not continuing other than not caring to finish the book.

This is the second book of Linda Howard's I haven't cared for, but the first I didn't finish. Even though everyone seems to absolutely adore her books I'm beginning to think they aren't for me. However, I will read Son of the Morning because I love time-travels, and will most likely give at least one of her other books I have lying around and a romantic suspense novel a chance before I write her off for good.

I will be honest and tell you, this is not my normal type of book to read. I prefer romantic suspense or romantic thriller, not political thrillers. I am just not a big political person. That said, I have to say, Mr. Rosenberg is extremely, extremely talented, and really knew what to put into a phenomenally written novel. This book truly surprised me at how well it captivated me.

The great detail and research that Mr. Rosenberg has put into this novel is incredible. It really helped draw me to the intensity of the story. I was drawn to Marcus Ryker, the Kremlin and all of the edge of your seat, nail biting plot twists that he hadded to the story. I found myself often holding my breath, holding my book with a white knuckled grip. That, to me, is what makes an amazing thriller!

This is definitely a 5 star worthy novel to the greatest proportions. Mr. Rosenberg absolutely blew me away with this novel and I am already looking forward to another thrilling, God filled, gripping novel from this fantabulously talented author. You heard it here folks. A non-political person, loving this absolutely gripping political Christian thriller. Hats off to Mr. Rosenberg!

Book 2 starts just before the ending of Book 1, Through His Eyes, which helps to lead you gently back into the story. Be prepared though, as that's probably the most gentle thing about this book. It is full of Levi and Trudy and the problems their relationship faces, most of which are caused by Levi to be fair! That book was a Paranormal Romantic Suspense. This book I would label this as Romantic Suspense with a bit of Paranormal thrown in. There is far less emphasis on the abilities of Levi and Trudy in this one than the first which I found to be slightly disappointing as I loved reading about them. HOWEVER, that said, this is still a fantastic story that is full of stalkers, murderers, history, and manipulators.

Levi and Trudy work hard in this book to overcome some of the difficulties and obstacles placed in their way. The ending, whilst not as shocking as the end of the first one, will still leave you wanting to know more straight away. Personally, I can't wait to read book 3 as soon as it is available. Levi is working to deal with his past and Trudy is likewise working at it. She shows her backbone in this book which I loved. One of my favourite quotes is when she tells Levi to watch his tone as they left the dog back at the penthouse! Classic!

I have deliberately kept this review as generic as possible because I know that Debbie will kill me if I give away any spoilers. So let me just finish by saying that I highly recommend this book and enjoyed it as much as the first, albeit in a slightly different manner.

**BOOK SYNOPSIS**
When her best friend is murdered the same way her brother was, who can she possibly trust?

A decade ago, Delaney Broward discovered her brother’s murdered body at the San Antonio art co-op he founded with friends. Her artist boyfriend, Hunter Nash, went to prison for the murder, despite his not-guilty plea.

This morning, Hunter walks out of prison a free man, having served his sentence.

This afternoon, Delaney finds her best friend dead, murdered in the same fashion as her brother.

Stay out of it or you’re next, the killer warns.

Hunter never stopped loving Delaney, though he can’t blame her for not forgiving her. He knows he’ll get his life back one day at a time, one step at a time. But he’s blindsided to realize he’s a murder suspect. Again.

When Hunter shows up on her doorstep, asking her to help him find the real killer, Delaney’s head says to run away, yet her heart tells her there’s more to his story than what came out in the trial. An uneasy truce leads to their probe into a dark past that shatters Delaney’s image of her brother. She can’t stop and neither can Hunter—which lands them both in the crosshairs of a murderer growing more desperate by the day (hour?).

In this gripping romantic suspense, Kelly Irvin plumbs the complexity of broken trust in the people we love—and in God—and whether either can be mended.

4.5 stars.

This is my first ever J.D. Robb book and it definitely wont be my last. I've read Nora Roberts books before and liked them too, mainly her romantic suspense ones.

I was so caught up in this story, once I really started reading it, and never wanted to put it down for sleep or work or anything. The mix of romance and mystery and police investigation had me hooked from pretty early on.

I think it was the romance mainly. From that first meeting of gazes at the funeral I knew something was going to happen. Roarke was just enough mystery and hotness to compliment Eve and her cool aloofness.

The murders were also a source of great intrigue. There was a list of people who would want to kill these women but I could never figure out who it was, though looking back they were always a little shifty.

I'm looking forward to reading more books in this series and by the author.

Sweet Lord Above. Yes, that's the best way to start this off as I reflect back on all that I just read in the final Tox File novel by the brilliant Ronie Kendig. Lord have mercy on my soul, she absolutely took my breath away with this incredibly moving, powerfully suspenseful, amazingly addictive novel. Ronie Kendig is a master of epic proportions when it comes to writing a Christian romantic suspense novel. This book will leave you like me: reflecting and wanting more.

The characters within this book are wonderful. They are created with a  real-to-life feel about them, and when I followed their story, I felt every emotion, every action, every message they did. The intensity of the suspense, the splash of the romance, the powerful faith that flows with Kendig's words is beyond captivating. I loved these characters, and I don't want to say goodbye!

Mrs. Kendig has created a final addition to the Tox Files that is worthy of the highest recommendations. Her research, her creativity, the way she knows what to give her fans, is awe-inspiring. I loved every second of this 5 star novel and I can't wait to recommend it to everyone that asks for one of my top reads of the year. Hats off to you, Mrs. Kendig and I can't wait to see what you have in store for you fans. Bring on another fantabulous novel please!
