Buddhist Digital Resource Center applies the transformative power of technology to advance the preservation and accessibility of Buddhist literature. BDRC Lib is a mobile app designed to provide mobile access to the complete BDRC Library operating at tbrc.org.

BDRC Lib is designed to work offline to search the vast repository of more than 350,000 titles in the library. Included are titles of independently published works, as well as titles that have been included in collections (via the well-known outline feature of the BDRC Library). The app features a robust search tool that works whether or not the device is connected to the Internet. Once the app is online, or otherwise connected to the Internet or the mobile data platform, readers can browse scanned page images.

BDRC Lib is in Tibetan language currently. BDRC is planning on two additional releases, so please stay tuned for updates. The second release will include a robust library update feature to allow users to easily grab the latest data from the BDRC Library database. The second release will include localizations in English and Chinese, as well as the ability to download PDF versions of the texts. The third release will include collaborative features such as request a text to be scanned, suggest edits to records, suggest a text to include in the library, and a desktop application that will provide direct access to the BDRC Library on the desktop. Collaborative features will allow readers to interact more with BDRC library workflow and library accessions.
