Minor entry in the Universal horror cycle. An unhinged scientist uses hormone treatments and a brain transplant to transform a wild ape into a beautiful woman, who develops a jealous passion for the local lion tamer. The film makes such extensive use of stock footage from the 1933 film The Big Tent that leading man Stone was mainly cast because of his resemblance to the star of the earlier film. Still managed to spawn two sequels.
