A luxury cruise ship sets sail for the Mediterranean. Aboard are twelve would-be hijackers, John McBride, and 500 innocent passengers. Rifles are smuggled aboard in Spain, and the hijack starts The passengers, led by an ex-union boss storm deck five, which the hijackers have put out-of-bounds. The captain tries to stop them, they are putting his rescue plans at risk. During the stand-off, a hurricane develops.
