Delivering Impossible Projects Successfully

2017 | Business & Finance

Whilst project managers are attaining ever greater numbers of industry qualifications, the failure rate of IT projects in particular rather perversely, continues to remain worryingly high. It is clear that there is something fundamentally wrong with the entire project delivery process which qualifications, processes and ever more convoluted project methodologies are failing to address. Perhaps a more 'common sense' approach is required? This book sets out to change the view that projects are intrinsically impossible and doomed to failure, by taking the reader through a project delivery through the eyes of the different key players. After all in the real world, whilst processes and procedures do of course have their part to play, the reality is that project management is not a 'paint by numbers' exercise. To successfully deliver a project manager also requires exceptional soft skills and for the key stakeholders to properly engage.

The assumption is that by extrapolating the experience of the author who has successfully delivered numerous impossible programmes and projects, the reader will discover the tips and techniques to increase their own effectiveness, which in turn will enable them to deliver even the toughest projects successfully.
