Specially designed for low-intermediate level teenage-adult level learners, Discover China Student Book 3 + Audio CD 3 is part of a four-level Mandarin Chinese course which utilizes a communicative and truly integrated approach to Chinese language learning. Emphasis is placed on communication in real contexts through pair work, group work and a variety of activities which help students become confident Chinese language speakers. Student Book 3 of the series follows a storyline of five young students who live in Beijing and are learning Chinese. Book 3 takes a deeper look at China's diverse culture, as the characters spend time in different parts of China for work and study reasons. Students develop language skills for specific purposes through guided writing and authentic-like texts.
Students who study up to Student Book 3 will have a strong grasp of the most common 1500 Chinese words, will be able to recognize the most frequently used 1350 characters and will be able to write 180 common characters. The Audio-CD bundled with the book provides additional listening practice for students outside the classroom and contains recordings of all the dialogues, passages and pronunciation sections contained in the Student Book.
