The Dying Game

2017 | Fiction & Poetry

Anna Francis, a workaholic with a nine-year-old daughter she rarely sees and a secret that haunts her, doesn't recognise the woman she has become. So when she is approached to take part in a forty-eight hour test on the remote island of Isola, along with six other candidates for a top-secret intelligence position, Anna wonders if this is her chance to get her life back on track. However, Anna is not actually a candidate for the position: in fact, she's the test itself. Her assignment is to stage her own death and then to observe, from her hiding place inside the walls of the house, how the six other candidates react to the news that a murderer is among them. Who will take control? Who will crack under pressure? But as soon as Anna arrives on the island, she realises things are not as straightforward as they seem. Is she ready to play the dying game? Because fear is the most dangerous thing of all...
