A comet crashed into the planet of Magalan leaving an element known as Elex. This element grants powers to those who would use it. Survivors of the planet have divided into factions and everyone is fighting to control the broken lands. With three different factions warring amongst themselves for control of the Elex, one other faction, stronger than all the others, aims to conquer all of Malagan. This faction is known as the Albs. Our story starts when a former Alb commander finds himself stranded without the power of Elex. The journey takes us across the lands each land resembling the factions who control them.
