“Get in the car,” he orders."
“No, I’m not going to."
“Do. As. I. Say,” he commands, stretching across the table so that his face is inches away from mine.
“Is there a problem here?” a deep, rumbly voice asks, and as I lift my eyes, I see the guy I locked eyes with a few minutes ago.
“Everything is fine,” my husband growls. “Mind your own business,” he says, standing up to the guy.
I’ve never seen him punch anyone, but this might be the first time.
“Brad, please,” I say, pleading with him, but he barely acknowledges me.
“I’m the manager, so this is my business,” the man replies, inching closer to my husband. Brad grits his teeth and stands his ground, but the manager doesn’t back down. My husband knows better than to get into a fight with someone bigger than him, but stranger things have happened.

How did I get here?
I had no intention of breaking up with my husband during our last night in Albuquerque, but maybe things do happen for a reason.
I've been fed up with him for a long time, and our attempt at fixing everything wrong in our relationship backfired.
When Brad storms out of the restaurant where we're having dinner and leaves me alone, I don't feel desperate...and I'm certainly not sorry.
In fact, in a matter of weeks I find my mojo again.
As I begin to move on, I can't help but notice the man who was there for me during my darkest hour.
Esteban Garcia is the dashing hero who looks like he came straight out of a fairy tale, and I can appreciate it...even though I'm no damsel in distress.
With his dazzling smile, bright green eyes and golden skin, he's a brand of gorgeous I'm not used to, and mysterious enough to drive me crazy with thoughts of him.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out I've somehow been enchanted by him . . . or maybe he was my fate all along.
