This book aims to help readers explore key factors that may influence successful teaching and learning of English within Saudi Arabia, and for Saudi learners who study overseas. The book discusses in detail the key aspects of teaching and learning English in the Saudi context. It provides readers with an understanding of the unique cultural, linguistic and historical context of English in Saudi Arabia, as well as an overview of the Kingdom today. Uniquely, the book will also look separately at learning English in Saudi Arabia (e.g. research on learning/learners in-country), and teaching English in Saudi Arabia (e.g. research on teaching/teachers in-country). It will also compare Saudi learners and teachers in overseas contexts and those teaching and learning in-country. Lastly, the book will touch on the future of EFL and TESOL in Saudi Arabia and its implications.
