Environmental Studies: An Annotated Bibliography

1994 | Natural World

Environmental Studies is a selection of books on humans and their world for young adults, intended for high school students and undergraduates who are interested in knowing more about environmental topics. It is a guide towards answers to such questions as: What is all this fuss about the ozone layer? Why do we care if New York City's landfill is closing? So what if a lot of tropical forests are being destroyed? Who cares about the world's increasing population? And why are there so many conflicting opinions about environmental questions? This bibliography is written for young people who are just beginning to develop an awareness about one planet, one people, and one home. The organization of the bibliography is topical by the past, present, and future. The past includes nature writings and legal history. The present centers around today's environmental news, and the last section reviews books that predict our future.
