Escape from Tarkov is a first-person shooter video game being developed by Battlestate Games. A closed alpha of the game was first made available to select users, on 28 December 2016.
Escape from Takov takes place in the fictional Norvinsk region, around a "Special economic zone" that served as a gateway between Russia and Europe. However, this attracted corporations with dubious intent. It didn't take long for a massive corporation to be the ground zero for a political scandal, six months later. This political scandal became an armed conflict involving Russian and UN peacekeepers. The civil war forced The Terra Group to hire USEC to hinder investigations. While BEAR is created on orders by the Russian Government. The player works for one of these PMCs and has the titular objective of escaping the city of Tarkov.
