South-East Asia is one of the richest and most diverse parts of the world in terms of mammals, but it is still relatively poorly known, with species new to science still being described on a regular basis. This field guide covers all the mammals that have been recorded from Burma through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, and south to Malaysia and Singapore. Detailed species accounts include identification characteristics, habitat and behaviour. Specially commissioned colour plates depict nearly 500 species in meticulous detail, showing details and variations where appropriate. A colour distribution map is included for every species. The species accounts are enhanced by line drawings of footprints of selected species and details of anatomy or other aspects of identification. This new edition includes a number of new plates and accompanying text, covering additional species of squirrels and bats.
