Wild Flowers HD is an application for iPad which allows you to identify with ease 1651 wild flowers of Western Europe.
All the photos are included in the software. You do not need an internet connection to show the images.
Please note that the flowers presented in this app are present in France. Most of them are present in a big part of the Western Europe around France. (see distribution maps)
Summary:
- Description and main parameters (size, size of the flower or inflorescence, color, flowering time, altitude, toxicity).
(Please note that the English language is not our mother language. Therefore, the english text of the descriptions is a bit reduced compared to the french. Please apologize for this ! )
- A wizard allows you to select criteria as the color, the shape of leaves or the shape of flowers. So, you can reduce the search to a limited number of species, and even identify directly a flower, in certain cases.
- Lists by common name, latin name, or both family name and common/latin name.
- Search field (common name or latin name).
- Distribution maps. (please note that maps depicts density of data registered within the GBIF network index and data from other sources. It may not necessarily depicts true species occurrence.)
- Ellenberg's ecological Indicators available for a very large part of the species.
- Sharing the current record by email. (Internet connection required)
- Save or share your personal notes by sending it as attachment in an email. (Internet connection required)
- Fully illustrated glossary to better understand the terms used by botanists.
In spite of all the precautions taken during the elaboration of this software, errors can still exist in our database.
In particular, if you notice an obvious error in the identification of a species, you contact us (contact form available at http://fleursenpoche.antiopa.info/fleursenpoche )
Wild flowers will then be corrected in the next version.
