Mark Heaney's solo work fuses together music from all genres but with the roots predominately in Jazz. As a drummer Mark's informative years were spent studying and playing Jazz and his latest solo work sees him return to his true calling as a musician/drummer.
His new music is an expansive mix of soundscapes and samples with the drums always the main focal point. Hypnotic drum grooves and low-fi sounds and production make for a very distinct and unique sound.
Playing live alongside his live drum set up Mark uses a Lap top and an LPD8 which enables him to manipulate the audio tracks to create in the moment.
Mark's solo work is a vehicle to share and express himself on his own terms and also a chance to see this world class player up close.
