The bleak gothic horror returns for a second season, but will Sean Bean ever make it to the end of a show without being bumped off? This re-imagining of the Frankenstein myth, picks up three years since police officer John Marlott (Sean Bean) escaped from Lord Daniel Hervey (Ed Stoppard) after being wrongly convicted, hanged for murder and then raised from the dead only to roam in the shadows of London.

In 1830, we join reanimated Marlott chained in a cell at the Royal Bethlem Hospital, on a wing for the criminally insane as a broken man. A visit by a local reverend stirs Marlott though, and with a jolt finds a renewed purpose to seek revenge on Lord Hervey for his crimes, and to redeem his soul.
