A circus' beautiful trapeze artist romances a sideshow dwarf, plotting to murder him for his inheritance. This provokes the vengeance of the dwarf's deformed friends. Controversial from release due to its subject matter and use of real-life freak show performers, the original ending was drastically cut and the film reduced in length by nearly a third following negative audience responses. Banned in the UK for over thirty years.
