2016 | Art, Photography & Fashion
To escape the complications of being a man, Thomas Thwaites tries to become a goat, building an exoskeleton that lets him walk on four legs, a prosthetic stomach that lets him eat grass, and a helmet that lets him experience the world as a goat would. Along the way he explores the changing ways we try to relate to the rest of the natural world, by talking to shamans, geneticists, goat psychologists, clinical psychiatrists, prosthetists, animal welfare campaigners, farmers, animal lovers and post-humans.
