Invited to Nightmute, Alaska, to head a murder case, a veteran LAPD detective (Al Pacino) finds his investigation disrupted by an ever-shining midnight sun that wreaks sleep-depriving havoc on him—and by personal guilt over a second crime that may be real...or a figment of his increasingly unstable consciousness.

Director Christopher Nolan crafts another jolting psychological thriller to remember, guiding Academy Award winners Al Pacino, Robin Williams and Hilary Swank in Insomnia. In the season of the midnight sun, no one—and no secret—can forever hide.

Insomnia- was christopher nolan's threed film that he directed. Insomnia has robin williams as the bad guy. Usually he plays the funny roles, but in this he is a serious twisted bad guy and i loved it. It was a different role for him and he did a excelllent job.

Insomnia is actually a remake of the same name. The oringal came out in 1997, it was a foreign langauge film and started Stellan Skarsgard.

Inaomnia- has mystery, suspense, drama, thrills, chills and horror.

I love this film, its one of my all time favorite movies and its also in my top ten best movies of all time.

Insomnia is a must see film, also watch the oringal.

A truly excellent thriller, this U.S. remake of a Norwegian film retains the feel of it's Scandinavian genesis.
Tense, twitchy and enthralling with fantastic performances, potent settings, and a great script and direction.

Pacino plays an L.A. cop hiding from his own guilt while investigating the death of a girl in Alaska.
Robin Williams is chillingly convincing as the manipulative bad man, proving yet again that he was a masterful actor as well as a gifted comedian.

A decent thriller with a strong cast set in an unusual location. A cop trying to solve a murder in a small Alaskan town, where it's never dark, weaves a tangled web of deceit to cover up some problems of his own. It's a little slow at times but overall a good film with a different plot to most.

"Christopher Nolan’s American remake was perfectly fine, but it still couldn’t capture the gut-twisting oppressiveness of Erik Skjoldbjaerg’s original. Anchored by Stellan Skarsgard’s impeccable portrayal of a man drowning in his own sins, this is the neonoir that truly turned noir on its head: darkness becomes something you pray for, while light is a straight razor that’s found entrance to your brain."
