It Came from Beneath the Sea (1955)

1955 | Sci-Fi

B-movie monster mash with effects by Ray Harryhausen. Atomic tests drive a giant octopus from the bottom of the Pacific Ocean; despite the best efforts of scientists and the navy, the Golden Gate Bridge ends up on the menu. (Harryhausen was only given enough money to animate six of the creature's tentacles and privately referred to it as a 'sixtopus'.)
