Jonathan Creek - Season Daemons' Roost

Young marrieds Alison and Stephen Belkin visit Daemon's Roost, the home of her step-father, former horror film director Nathan Clore, now an invalid attended by adoring carer Phillipa, since Alison is keen to discover what caused the deaths of her mother and sisters. Years earlier Jonathan's evidence had been instrumental in acquitting Stephen of a murder charge and vicar Wendell Wilkie, a huge admirer of Jonathan, asks him to help Alison in her enquiries. However Nathan is found dead, despite the water-tight security system surrounding his house. More deaths follow before Jonathan, working on Nathan's film background, establishes the identity and motive of the culprit, whilst Alison finally learns what killed her family.
