The collection has four main aims: Firstly, it will thoroughly (and for the first time) compare legal aid between the Nordic welfare states and examine in detail some of the most significant legal aid projects. Secondly, it aims at explaining differences and similarities between the countries. Thirdly, it aims at explaining a Nordic model of legal aid compared to European and cross-Atlantic legal aid. Fourthly, it will review existing research on legal aid and point to new directions for future research.
