Romantic melodrama from producer George Pal (with just a dash of pest-control instructional film thrown in). Somewhere in South America at the beginning of the 20th century, proud, repressed plantation owner Charlton Heston invests in mail-order bride Eleanor Parker, but is appalled to learn she has already been married (he doesn't buy second hand goods, you see). Sexual tension throbs, unresolved, until a swarm of army ants gives them an incentive to work on their relationship.
