After it looked like they had got away with it all and were dividing up the cash, last season's nerve-wracking finale of the gangster family saga saw the Peaky Blinders being taken away in handcuffs, apart from untouchable leader Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy). Not everyone is happy with the deal Tommy's made with the government, especially Arthur (Paul Anderson) who was set to leave for New York. The family has been pulled apart.
This season, Tommy receives a mysterious letter on Christmas Eve, which makes him realise that the gang are in danger of annihilation. As the enemy closes in, Shelby leaves his country house and returns to Birmingham's streets, where a desperate fight for survival is set to begin. Tom Hardy returns as Jewish gang leader Alfie Solomons, alongside Adrien Brody (The Grand Budapest Hotel) and Aiden Gillen (Game of Thrones) who join as new characters.
