There are many things that can capture the heart. The question is: Have you been paying attention?
“That which dazzles my corporeal eye, I put together into corporeal signs. My creations just happen to have a verbal expression.” — Sabine Ruh House
Sabine has been dabbling in poetry since childhood, influenced by her ever changing enviornment as a first generational immigrant
Sometimes, certain words and phrases come together to give a sensation, which Sabine can only call synesthesia — some others might call it joy.
Throughout her life, she keeps searching for that feeling. And with “Playing with Phosphenes”, she was able to put it on paper.
From artworks to personal experiences, both good and bad, Sabine draws inspiration from all these things and make them shiny through beautiful, measured poetry.
Like magpies flying overhead, Sabine remains curious and thoughtful. Her words invite the reader to walk in her shoes and visualize the world through her observant eyes and pondering heart.
If you’re looking to see the world in a brand new light, let “Playing with Phosphenes” inspire you to dig deeper into the mundane, to paint a different color onto the dull, and to finally understand that life gives us multiple opportunities for joy.
