2010 | Pop
Pop Princesses 2010, like Pop Princesses 2009, is centered around female-led hit pop singles that were big during a specific year, and works back a few years earlier for a handful of its selections. Distributed by Universal U.K., the disc is as stylistically broad as any other collection of early-2000s hits, including Shakira’s “She Wolf,” Jennifer Hudson’s “Spotlight,” and Frankie Knuckles’ mix of Whitney Houston’s “Million Dollar Bill,” as well as Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” Rihanna’s “Russian Roulette,” Pixie Lott’s “Cry Me Out,” and Cheryl Cole’s “Fight for This Love.” The videos for 15 of the 21 songs are compiled on the accompanying DVD.
