Adam Caine is on his last chance. Booted out of the army in disgrace after a secret mission goes badly wrong, he is offered an opportunity to make amends. Not because of what he knows, but who he knows: Khalid Bashir. Bashir is a Pakistani soldier trained by the British at Sandhurst. He graduated alongside Caine and was expected to return to his homeland to help win the war on terror. Instead he is part of that terror, fighting with the Taliban against coalition troops who should have been his allies. His motivation is simple. Revenge for the death of his innocent family in a US drone strike. Now the two men are in a race. Bashir to bomb and kill as many of his new enemies as he can. Caine to track him down and stop him. What neither realise is that they are both being played by CIA boss Cyrus Vincent, a man to whom few rules apply and whose chief interest is himself...
