You will find two young Ilk bound together by a single rope as they cling to survival in a world most stranger to them. Sacrificed for the sake of their people, Mokh and Tarh must combine each other's strengths to quell any weaknesses they will inevitably face if they have any hope in restoring peace with the gods. They soon discover that uncovering the past may be the only way to salvage the future.

Introduction to the Story

The gods, who would under no circumstances meddle with life on Azath, were impressed by the ilk's positive demeanor and their ability to cooperate even under dreadful circumstances. The gods found themselves in favorable opinion with the ilk and, under the condition that the ilk remain true to themselves, gifted the Azathesen ilk with five powerful masks.

The power of the masks didn't just aid them in their survival, but became a pillar of support for the ilk and helped turn their crumbled villages into highly civilized and technologically advanced cities. Although the tribesmen had clearly transcended technologically, the ilk buried themselves in their egos, quarreled over power, and grew antisocial.
