Safe Transgender Bathroom App

Navigation | Education

iOS

The Safe Transgender Bathroom App allows transgender and gender nonconforming people to find public bathrooms where they can feel safe. It allows the community of people who use the app to share information about these bathrooms.

Bathroom locations are displayed on a map as stick pins. Clicking on a stick pin will display the name of the establishment where the bathroom is located as well as an information icon.

Clicking on the information icon will bring up more information about the bathroom such as its gender designation, the number of toilets it has, and how many users have liked and disliked it.

Users can tap on the Get Directions Button to transfer to the Maps App and get directions to the bathroom.

To enter information into the database, users must establish a username and password. There is no need to enter any personal information, so privacy is protected. The app remembers who the user is, so after the first time, there is no need to re-enter the user name and password. After the first time, the only time a user should need to enter their user name and password will be when they switch devices or remove and reinstall the app.

Users who have established their username and password can add new bathrooms, like or dislike a bathroom, and report any errors or problems about a bathroom.

To add a new bathroom, users tap on the Add Icon in the upper right corner of the map. This brings up a screen where the user can enter the information about the bathroom.

Database administrators will do their best to keep bathroom data accurate, however, we are unable to guarantee the accuracy of all bathrooms entered into the database. Users assume any risk associated with using the app.
