Samsung Galaxy S8

Phones

Boundaries removed
The Infinity Display has an incredible end-to-end screen that spills over the phone’s sides, forming a completely smooth, continuous surface with no bumps or angles. It’s pure, pristine, uninterrupted glass. And it takes up the entire front of the phone, flowing seamlessly into the aluminium shell. The result is a beautifully curved, perfectly symmetrical, singular object.

A camera built for every moment
Capture life as it happens with the Galaxy S8 and S8+ cameras. The 12MP rear camera and the 8MP front camera are so accurate and fast that you won't miss a moment, day or night.

Security that's foolproof
Prying eyes are not a problem when you have iris scanning on the Galaxy S8 and S8+. No two irises have the same pattern, not even yours, and they're nearly impossible to replicate. That means with iris scanning, your phone and its contents open to your eyes only. And when you need to unlock really fast, face recognition is a handy option.

Powerful Performance
Built for the life you lead, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are driven by the world's first 10nm processor. It's fast, powerful and increases battery efficiency. Plus, there's the ability to expand storage and to work through rain and dust, with IP68-rated performance.

Say hello to Bixby
Bixby completely changes the way you interact with your phone. It's a personal assistant that understands talk, text, and taps so you're never confined to one mode of communication. It also completely changes the way you search. You don't even have to ask, just show Bixby what you want by opening your camera app. It's so incredibly easy.

Stunning phone
I absolutely love this phone. I upgraded last year from the Galaxy S6 and I’m so glad I did.

It is such a beautiful looking phone. I have mine in a flip case, but I often take it out just to admire it as the body is so sleek and just feels great to hold. The infinity display too is fantastic. The camera is much better than any of my previous phones and takes some pretty good looking photos. I was dubious about the missing home button but it actually works very well and I think this is partly why the phone looks so slick. The fingerprint sensor on the back is a little unusual and it does take a while to get used to, but you come to realise that it is actually useful to have it on the back. The phone itself runs very quickly, I’ve never had any concerns over speed and the Android interface itself is still much better than Apple’s and allows a lot more personalisation and customisation.

My only criticism of this phone is the predictive text/autocorrect. It is so clunky and so unintelligent that it drives me up the wall on a daily basis. It changes real actual words for no reason and then never seems able to learn words that I type regularly. Although strangely it does seem quick to pick up things I’ve misspelt and then constantly correct the right word to a misspelt version that I’ve used once... very frustrating.

Speed!
Very recently upgraded to this from a Samsung J3. A lot faster and brighter for sure. The camera is a lot better and captures better photos in poorer light.

Big negative is it seems not to connect to the Internet nearly as well as my previous phone. I never used to have problems connecting without WiFi while indoors, but now I do.

Have owned less than a week, so hopefully things will improve, but overall very satisfied.

So, at first, I wasn't sure how I felt about the fact that the physical home button was removed. Sometimes, I do wish it was there.
I absolutely love the fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone, so you can actually hold your phone like a normal human being and unlock it. The display is amazing, and I love the forever clock, so I don't even have to wake it up to see the time and alerts.
Samsung was also on point for creating a case with an attachable qwerty keyboard. It makes texting so much easier, and makes me nostalgic for my blackberry.

So far, the S8 and the S8+ are simply the best phones I have ever had. The screen is beautiful, the operation is quick and accurate, the memory capacity is brilliant, and even the battery life, with fairly rigorous use (at full display setting etc), is pretty decent.

I say pretty decent; just by tweaking it slightly, and having slightly lower screen resolution (only noticable if you watch films) or extends it by a good few hours. By turning full power saving on (and even still having Facebook, WhatApp etc with notifications, and with light use) I have taken it camping on a Friday, and had enough battery to navigate my way home on the Monday.

For someone who wants a tablet, and a phone, go for the S8+ and just get that. They are absolutely brilliant, and although they are now a couple of years old, they are still right at the too of the leagues (in my opinion).
