School Play is powerful and unique in its honest portrayal of the State Primary School education system from the perspective of the teaching staff. Despite high-profile reports in the media, little has been done to combat the attritional effect of the education system upon its teachers. Current policy and cultural representations treat the public wing of the profession as inevitably unglamorous, unremarkable and accountable for its own failures. Something has to be said about the story of the people behind the statistics. A sharp, wry and timely drama.
