Sorry We Missed You follows the struggles of a working class family in the United Kingdom as they attempt to pull themselves out of poverty and into a better life. Ricky Turner (Hitchen) wants to be able to provide for his family, so with their savings, he franchises a delivery truck and attempts to make his own way as a "business owner." His wife, Abbie (Honeywood), supports him by selling their car, the only means for her to get to and from her own job as a nurse. Their son, Seb (Stone), is acting out and their daughter Lisa Jane (Proctor) only wants the family to feel like a family again.
