This is one of those films that I believe is better than the book (not a Gaiman fan). I liked the casting, for the most part, and the pacing. I liked it, but I've never rewatched it. Maybe my opinion will change when I view it again.

Starring a pre-Daredevil Charlie Cox and based on the book of the same name by Neil Gaiman, this actually sticks pretty close to it's source material for the majority of its runtime: that is, up until about the last 30 minutes or so when it goes off in completely its own tangent.

I also have to say that I found the inclusion of Ricky Gervais to be completely out of place (I find his whole schtick to be incredibly annoying anyway), and Robert De Niro playing against type as Captain Shakespeare also took me quite by surprise the first time I saw it (but good on him for being game enough to do so).

This one was a surprise for me as I didn't expect it to be as entertaining as first thought, De Niro playing against type as a pirate and Pfeiffer as the Witch, watch out for superman Henry Cavill, lots of fun!

Not as good as the book, but not bad
I read the book years ago and fell in love with it. I was excited to see the movie but was left a little disappointed. It was good but kind of ruined what I had made up in my imagination when I read the book. The story is beautiful, fun and action filled. The chemistry was perhaps lacking between the lead actors. It didn't really gel for me.

Somehow this film is unironically my all time favourite - the plot makes almost no sense and the music is painfully dramatic at all times but that just makes it all the more hilarious (0 more)
Though I mean technically the constantly departing dramatic music does mean that when there is a dramatic scene it really doesn't feel that epic. (0 more)
The casting of this film is just fantastic - I recently rewatched this whilst impressively drunk and it was an absolutly fantastic experience (if you are old enough to drink legally!) I would completely recommend this experience.

such a magical film and is a feel good film. You got lost in it and if you love the stars like me you will like this. There's a romance story which makes you also fall in love too.

Great fantasy adventure
A very good enjoyable film. A good mix of action, humour and loads of well known faces. Good fun film for all ages!
