The Last Thing I Saw

2017 | Thriller

Your husband or your son... whose life do you save?

Emma's life seems perfect. Living in a quiet town with her hard-working husband, Darren, and her loving teenage son, Frank, everything is going to plan. That is until a killer holds her family at gunpoint and makes her choose: Darren or Frank?

Only one of the two people she loves most in the world can live. If she doesn't sacrifice one, the psycho in the mask will kill them both.

After 'the event,' as Emma's therapist calls it, her mind protects itself by omitting the decision she made. Now locked away in a psychiatric hospital, she must deal with the choice she made that day or face a life of uncertainty.

As Emma's mind travels from before and after 'the event,' she comes to realize that her life wasn't so perfect. Secrets and a troubled past will emerge from the dark, forcing her to remember who she chose.

Will she be able to face reality, or will the truth destroy her mind forever?

A real page turner. Shocker.
Just give me a minute to pick my jaw up off the floor after that outcome and twist. Wow. Not expected at all and a true shocker! Wow. I devoured this book within a day and loved it!

I loved how the story was told through therapy sessions within the hospital… There is a lot of back and forth within this book but the author has made it clear when its changes so there is no confusion. A cleverly written, thrilling story you will not want to put down.

Can easily be finished in one sitting. It was brilliant. Would highly recommend this to you all. A well deserved five stars! A true shocker. Jaw dropping. Addictive. A real page turner. Loved reading every minute of this one.

Nice and easy read!
Nice, easy psychological thriller. I ended up guessing who the "masked man" was pretty early in the book but I enjoyed following Emma's journey in trying to remember the events of that fateful night.
