Thinkladder is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and meditation hybrid app.

The app allows users to evaluate and challenge unhelpful beliefs associated with stress, anxiety, relational conflict and depression, and receive empowering insights to help form healthier cognitive pathways. Users can incorporate these insights into their daily rituals through setting up scheduled reminders and location based reminders, so insights are received at the most opportune time.
They can also use the Audio Insights as part of their mediation practice.

Our assumptions about the world and everyone in it have a profound impact on how we experience life. Believing something is safe or wrong or worthwhile or impossible determines whether we engage freely or stand on the sidelines, whether we enjoy being in our skin or shake in our boots. However, many of these beliefs exist in our subconscious mind where we are not aware of either their influence or even their existence.

The human brain can only consciously process so much data at a time so its number one life-hack is to ‘learn’ something as fast as it can and then wire it up as a program that it can run subconsciously on autopilot. The brain has a program for everything: from how to interpret other people’s facial expressions, to how we respond to disappointment, to what body language to use in the presence of perceived authority.

Each of these programs includes a set of associated beliefs. The problem is that many of these beliefs were wired into our brains during childhood or in a heightened emotional state, without any form of evaluation or before we’d even developed our own value system. This means that we can end up running all day long on autopilot, fuelled by beliefs we may not even agree with.

The good news is wrapped up in the word neuroplasticity.

In our developmental years our brains were supercharged to absorb information, constantly growing, wiring and pruning neural connections. Neuroplasticity refers to the brains ability to continually change and adapt its physical structure in response to what we focus on and how we think, feel and behave.

Although this ability becomes less efficient with age, neuroscientists describe how in adulthood we can intentionally create the conditions the brain needs to harness this ‘self directed’ plasticity. These conditions are focused concentration, repetition and perseverance… and this is where the Thinkladder app comes into play.

Thinkladder's four unique tools are designed to help you rewrite the script in your subconscious mind. When we replace our outdated beliefs it disrupts the smooth running of our old automated programmes and allows us to experiment with a new set of actions. As we rehearse these new beliefs and actions with focused concentration and perseverance, they become our new normal.

The Insight Finder helps you grow in self-awareness and identify the subconscious beliefs that are fuelling your unwanted habits, and automatic thoughts and moods. It also allows you to select empowering alternative insights that align with your goals and values.

Insight Reminders bring your selected insights to your attention at regular intervals, providing the repetition your brain needs to assimilate these empowering ideas.

Insight Alerts allow you to identify specific contexts and places that often trigger programmed responses that you would like to change. For example, you may recognise that shopping malls trigger self-loathing, or visiting your in-laws triggers defensiveness, or your workplace triggers perfectionism. Insight Alerts’ allows you to pin specific insights to these locations so that you can receive what you need to hear exactly when you need to hear it.

Audio Insights enables you to listen to your selected insights, either in the form of relaxing meditation, or on the go. The audio option allows you to engage in the focussed concentration, repetition and perseverance that is required for lasting change in the brain.
