One part macabre, one part melancholic, and all-around oddball, the poems contained within this collection are both old and new works meshed together in a weird amalgamation that centers upon themes of life, love, death, and rebirth. Mothers, maidens, and crones make their appearances, as does Vlad the Impaler, Aokigahara (Japan's notorious Suicide Forest), and a fiery phoenix.
