'Over a decade ago a team of revolutionaries called the Killjoys lost their lives while saving a mysterious girl from the tyrannical megacorporation Better Living Industries. Today the Killjoys live on in memory, if not belief, as BLI widens its reach and freedom fades. The Girl, now grown reemerges and is put in the spotlight as a saviour, a role she knows nothing about. But with the new revolution hell bent on body counts, the Girl must look within herself to but an end to BLI once and for all.'
A comic book mini series continuing the story of the Fabulous Killjoys as portrayed by the band My Chemical Romance in their music videos for their Fourth album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.
In the music video we see the Killjoys defeated by Korse and The Girl is captured, in the second music video of this album the Killjoys attack the enemy to rescue The Girl but die in the process. Lead vocalist of the band Gerard Way has said that he wanted to shoot a third music video but they ran out of money, so opted to do a comic book mini series to end the story, resulting in The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, showing what happened 12 years after their deaths, what became of The Girl, and what the Killjoys Died for.
