2017 | Education
This book presents strategies for solving the fundamental problem: "Why do so many students fail to learn school algebra well?" The book provides the first major description and analysis of the history of school algebra, and also describes a design research approach that represents a first step to solving the fundamental problem. A well-designed study, featuring random allocation of seventh-grade students to workshop groups, is described. The analyses of data indicated that very positive results were obtained.
