Mitsuha's school friends agree to help Taki (as Mitsuha) try to get the town evacuated before the comet hits. After the town is spared, Taki and Mitsuha have a chance meeting, but only for a short while. When they wake up, they have forgotten each other's names, and soon, they forget other details of their time as each other, too. However, they never quite forget that there is something, or someone, that they can't remember.
