The women in this book are about to discover that looks can be deceiving because anyone is capable of terrible things. Even the most innocent, even you.

Picture Of Innocence is a dark psychological thriller.
This novel had me utterly hooked!
The story follows the lives of two women: Maddie and Lydia, and the theme is nature versus nurture.
I really enjoyed the two stories of two women in two different periods of time and watching how those stories intertwined.
This is one devious thriller!
There are so many twists, turns and red herrings in this book; you will be guessing and open mouthed even down to the last page!
I wont give any spoilers, suffice to say that its shocking and dreadful and heartbreaking all at the same time.
I have to commend T. J. Stimson for a brilliant read!

I could tell this was going to be a hot read from the first chapter when Frankie was fantasising about JakeSteamy!and I wasnt wrong.

You get to see from both Frankies and Jakes POV, which is an advantage when Jake is described as being a serious, moody guy by Frankie. But then seeing from Jakes POV just why hes behaving like that balances it out and it switches between every so often.

The first sex scene between the pair took up a fair bit of the book but it also contains an intriguing plotline. Who was Frankies stalker and why were they stalking her? Unfortunately we dont find out in this one but I hope the author is well on her way to finishing a second book in the series so we can.

I liked it but I also feel slightly cheated since we didnt find out who was behind the attacks against Frankie. Im left with more questions than answer but at the same time Im happy that Jake and Frankie got a happy ending as they are both really likeable characters and deserve some happiness after what theyve both been through.

Short and sweet. I will certainly read the next in the series when it comes out.

His Hideous Heart is an anthology collection of 13 re-imagined tales inspired by works of Edgar Allan Poe. The book is split into two sections: The Tales Retold and The Original Tales. What I liked about the layout of this collection is that its easy for those of us whove read the originals to revisit them before or after reading the retold stories and its also convenient for readers whove never been introduced to Poe before. When it comes to retellings in any form, catching on to the fact that a story was inspired by another can be a challenge, especially if the inspiration is rather loose. But thats another reason why I love the layout of this collection: Its clear as to which original story inspired a retelling, and I loved reading along, connecting the dots and yet, being surprised by all the new twists and turns.

In a perfect world, Id love to review each and every retelling in this collection, because many of them were downright gorgeous and grotesque. However, my absolute favorites were:

1. Its Carnival! by Tiffany D. Jackson
2. Lygia by Dahlia Adler (inspired by Ligeia)
3. Happy Days, Sweetheart by Stephanie Kuehn
4. The Glittering Death by Caleb Roehrig
