Genuinely creepy but plot development was poor
No doubt this freaky horror will leave you watching your back and leaving the lights on. However, the story plot is under developed and extremely rushed, moving from one scary scene to another without much explanation. And it has a rather depressing ending, but not that of a 1970s classic horror, leaving no tidbits for a sequel as such. You'll listen to scratching sounds in a different way though!

One of Bronson's better cop flicks
Every time I see Charles Bronson playing a policeman, I always think maybe this was a role Clint Eastwood turned down as their styles and film choices in the 1970s were very similar.
This was a good one, though, as it was action packed and had some great car chase scenes. Everything you look for in a mob, action cop film is here and will not disappoint.

A slice of life
20th century women is a slice of life film based in California in the 1970s, there will be characters you dont like and some you do but that is because they are 3 dimensional and designed to be that way, I am at a point on my life where I am thinking about starting a family and this film showed me it was okay to be scared because no one knows what they are doing and it's part of the process
Nicole Hadley (380 KP) rated Sisters One, Two, Three in Books

Sisters One, Two and Three by Nancy Star is a story told from Ginger's perspective. The plot moves between the 1970s and today. Ginger is the oldest of four siblings, and in the 1970s a tragic event redefined her family.
The three sisters, all very different, come together after the death of their mother. Ginger is the the eldest who is the overanxious hypochondriac. Mimi is the laissez-faire soccer Mom extraordinaire. Lastly, Callie is the youngest and the wanderer whom, as of late, has been on one of her famous disappearing acts. The three finally converge at their Martha’s Vineyard home and, finally, are forced to confront the tragedy from their childhood that has plagued them all for years.
The characters in this novel are well thought out and unique, as well as realistic and flawed. This novel has great style, flow and is very easy to read. I was overjoyed when the format on my E-reader copy was clear, and I could easily engage.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Lake Union Publishing for an opportunity to read an advance copy.
