One of the best Thrillers in recent years. A simple premise, but the twists and tension that build up will have you on the edge of your seat. Make sure you see it!

The Bad Batch (2016)
The Bad Batch (2016)
2016 | Drama
Keanu Reeves, outfitted to resemble a disco era porn star, delivers a mid-movie monologue about the bad batch being the not good enough, not smart enough flotsam no one wants.
Critic- Culture Crypt
Original Score- 50 out of 100

47 Meters Down (2017)
47 Meters Down (2017)
2017 | Horror
Lots of good ocean cinematography, nice underwater camerawork all around. Particularly love the claustrophobic way we’re drawn into the situation of these women.
Critic- Father Son Holy Gore
Original Score: 4 out of 5

Darkness And Light by John Legend
Darkness And Light by John Legend
2016 | Rhythm And Blues
“Darkness and Light,” his fifth studio album, treats love as something far more complex than a panacea and a fount of perpetual reassurance, with music to match.

"Shonda [Rhimes] is a rock star and a superhero, and if you have not read her book, it should be your New Year’s resolution for 2016. You should read Year of Yes. It is one of my most favorite books I have ever read—and I like books. It’s so good"

I know it's early, but here's a novel that I'm already certain will rank high on my "top 2016 books" list next year. Read my review here to find out why this book should be your first read of the New Year. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2015/12/20/depths-in-simplicity/

Locked In ( Monolith ) (2016)
2016 | Drama, Thriller
Silvestrini, in only his second feature, does an excellent job of sustaining the tension in a situation where it would be easy for the audience, as well as the protagonist, to despair.

Not having read any of Mary Burton’s books before [where have I been living!!!!], I didn’t know what to expect but the description sounded like something I would enjoy and I did.

Book Favorite

When I saw Palmieri interviewed on the Rachel Maddow Show, I started crying. This book doesn’t take the sting off November 8, 2016, but Palmieri lays out a very touching, emotional, and informative road map to get us back to the mindset where we believed our first female President will become a reality.
