it’s hard to level any complaints at F1 2017. It’s one of the best simulation racing games around, with the one caveat being that you probably have to be a fan of F1 to enjoy it.

Books Editor (673 KP) shared own list

Oct 4, 2017 (Updated Oct 4, 2017)
The finalists for the 2017 National Book Awards have arrived.

The National Book Awards serve roughly the same function in the book world that the Oscars do in the movie world. Pulitzer-winner Jennifer Egan’s Manhattan Beach was widely reviewed and much discussed, but although it was on the longlist for fiction, it didn’t advance to the final round.

The summer is over and TV season is here.

Luckily the people in charge of TV land know this and this is the time of the year where there are almost too many shows to watch at once.

Metro have had a look at what shows are coming up in late 2017 and 2018, whether it be the return of Peaky Blinders and Stranger Things or something else entirely.

Fear not if the weather is foul, there is arguably enough here to prevent you going outside until at least March next year.

Super Lucky's Tale
Super Lucky's Tale
2017 | Action/Adventure
Super Lucky’s Tale is a fine 3D platformer. It blends in more types of platforming than most entries in the genre and keeps the collect-a-thon to a minimum. The core of the game is platforming and that keeps the pace of the action fairly fast.

Music was full of fury, confusion and resistance in our first post-election year. Albums came with titles like American Dream (LCD Soundsystem), American Teen (Khalid) and All American Made (Margo Price).

But music in 2017 was also about a more slippery sense of self, as genre lines fall away and artists searched for identity and purpose in weird times.

So here's the best of a tumultuous year:

Taylor Swift clapped back, Kendrick Lamar went back to basics, Lorde threw a high-concept party and more:

The four-handed set-up (though other characters, and a number of wobbly flashbacks, intrude) may well recall Yasmina Reza’s acrid couple-combat in her play God of Carnage. If you thought that foursome were rotten eggs, get a load of this lot.

What ultimately made this book a story that will resonate with me was the ambience of the narration. As a fan of Claire Fuller‘s prose and story telling I can heartily recommend Hannah Tinti‘s The Twelve Lives of Samuel Hawley..
