I was conflicted between giving this book 3 or 4 stars, but decided on 4. This book was very hard to get into. The beginning tells a story that seems to go nowhere. There are a lot of characters introduced right off the bat & it starts off a bit hard to follow. However, if you stick with it this runs out to be a seriously interesting & highly umpredictable read. I had no idea what was going to happen. The 2 main charaters Leo & Raissa are mysterious & intriguing. They seem to be hard to relate to at first, but as the story unfolds they seem almost too human.
If you can stick out the first 100 pages, you will be rewarded with a great read!

A decent follow up to the first film, with the young Mexican snapped up by Real Madrid in the January transfer window to help their champions league campaign. Again this has plenty of guest stars playing themselves and the football games and scenes are very well done. Plot wise the new kid on the block has to cope with fame and fortune, the press, living abroad with his wife back in Newcastle and finding his mother. Not as deep story wise as the first, you do need to watch that first really and I wasn't happy with the quick ending waiting for the third installment, but this is about as good a film about football as can be made. Next up Goal 3 at the World cup!!

I love time travel stories, and this one falls incredibly short for me. This was written for a 1970's audience with a 1960's mindset. It doesn't do much for 2010's sensibilities. The themes are very lacking in their strength. The ideas seem a little haphazardly put together. I didn't like the main character, the plot getting up to the time travel was quite boring, the time travel itself was a bit intriguing. The whole motivations for the entire book were a bit suspect at best.

It was enjoyable which is why I gave it 3 stars. It, by far, is not the worst time travel novel I've ever read, but it certainly isn't the best. It's clearly middle of the road.

This is such a cute book! My baby girl is almost 3 months old and she loves to look at the really colourful pages full of different kinds of shapes. The book is like a mini guessing game as you have to guess what kind of vehicles are hiding behind the flaps. I like that this hardcover book is so sturdy so I imagine that it will last well as she grows. I also like the little sound effects which are written next to each vehicle so you can amuse your little one by making lots of silly noises.
When my baby looks at this she literally drools with excitement and so i'm going to give this one 5 stars as I can't fault it.

This is a really beautiful collection of poetry written straight from the heart of the author. The subject matter of each poem changes throughout the book, containing life, love, nature and beauty.
It is a short, refreshing read which I recommend.
The main reasons I removed some stars was because some of the writing and poems were not to my personal taste (no fault of the author) and it is very obvious that english is not the author's first language as there were quite a few spelling and editing errors which made some of the poems quite difficult to read and understand. Other than that this was a nice and pleasant read.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is another slam dunk for Tom Holland’s web-slinger. With a script that perfectly balances humour and emotion, it may be the funniest MCU film yet, this is a film with massive re-watch value with lots of nostalgia and a fabulous cast. Nevertheless, the dodgy special effects do pull you out of the illusion at times and that just stops it from achieving a perfect five stars.

Stick around for two post-credit sequences in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

not enough for me
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book

Ten maids to Master Marius tell their story, identified only by the job and the colour of their underwear.

This was an easy read, erotic flash fiction, 49 pages. It didn't do very much for me, though, and I found 9 stories almost identical. The tenth is different in the the Maid is in control, rather than Marius but there was still the reference to her colour underwear, and what she felt about the other maids.

It was reasonably well written, and delivers what it claims to be: short erotic fiction.

It just wasn't ENOUGH for me, but I did finish it.

3 stars

3.33 stars. 4 for the first two thirds, 2.5 for the last third.

I thought that this book was pretty funny in places, some of the situations, some of the phrases, some of the characters were just pretty crazy and that made me laugh. Gavin was cute. I can't quite picture a four year old like him with his dirty mouth and angelic face.

I have to admit though that I lost interest a little after the 2/3 point. They were happy, they were a family...why did it have to continue for all that extra length of time?

Nevertheless, Gavin and the crazy humour kept me entertained. I just need to decide if I want to read the next book in the series or not.
