Nicole Hadley (380 KP) rated I Am Bat in Books
Jun 18, 2018
I am Bat by Morag Hood is a simple picture book. There are many things children will enjoy about it. The main character, Bat, is grumpy and selfish with his food, but he is adorable. The illustrations are cute and the reader ends up liking this grumpy little bat. The drawings are simple, but are done well. The book touches on fruit, colors, feelings, and hints at friends.
I give this story 4/5 stars.

I adored this book. I got stalking jack the ripper vibes when I first started reading this - but since I hated ripper I thought for sure I would grow to dislike this book - but that was not the case at all for me. I thought it was well written and interesting and not predictable at all, I thought for sure I knew who did it but.. nope, wrong! There were a few parts I was like, meh on, hence the 4 stars instead of 5 but still a definite must read book!

3.5 stars.
I like Abbi Glines' work, some more than others.
This started good, I liked the somewhat forbidden-ness of going after the girl your roommate says he's going to marry in the future. I liked the connection between Marcus and Low.
I just figured out the dilemma of both their families from more or less page 20. It was a bit too obvious so I have no idea why neither of them could figure it out sooner.
I have books 3 and 4 in this series and I'm going to read them next.

Really enjoyed this... it does seem to have led into a follow up book which can be annoying at times, especially if the author doesn't wrap up what is going on in the plot of the current book. This one did slightly do this hence the 4 stars and not 5.
All in all I really enjoyed the concept and plot of this book. I disliked one of the main characters which I don't think was intentional but that is a personal preference.
Would defo recommend to YA/dystopian fans.
