Molly J (Cover To Cover Cafe) (106 KP) rated In the Field of Grace in Books
Feb 27, 2019
This book was amazing. Absolutely amazing. The message that is woven into this book, that God's grace is sufficient through all times, good and bad, is powerful and incredible. It is just what I needed to read. Ms. Afshar is superbly talented and knew just what this reader need to read.
Boaz and Ruth, along with Naomi, are created perfectly. I felt like I had taken a trip right to the heart of the Bible and followed their story. Both suffered tragedies beyond compare, both seeking happiness, both reaching out to each other. The way they were portrayed, the way they interacted and fell in love, made me fall in love with the whole story. It was perfect!
Ms. Afshar's book is high on my recommendations list. From start to finish, I was lost in the pages of this book, and I had it done in less than a day. It was that good. This book is powerful and worth so much more than simple 5 stars. It is worthy of 5 million stars. When it comes to Biblical fiction this is the kind of book I seek and I am so incredibly pleased to have read it.This review was originally posted on Cafinated Reads

4.75 Stars. This book is phenomenal. I read in on sitting and could not stop!
Olly and Maddy's relationship progression was amazingly written and even though there was a small spark of insta-love , the relationship as a whole was well thought out and well-paced.
The part of this that brought it down from a 5 (which as a whole it deserved) is what she found out about the disease in the end. That was a little to cinematic (Bubble Boy) for me.
I wish there was more of it to devour - definitley an Incredible book.

A dark forest is scary! I definitely spooked myself out while reading this book. I couldn't put it down either. If you read it without looking too far for answers, it will keep you quite entertained. I had to read with the lights on for part of it. What a creepy story with creepy characters. It was a bit aggravating with the main character's personality. It had to be that way for the story to work. But I was disappointed in it. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars. Ruth Ware knows how to do suspense!

Cat Up, Cat Down by Catherine Hnatov is a short and simple book featuring a black cat and a white cat that help teach prepositions with their positions. This is a beautifully illustrated, this book for toddlers is a great way to help teach them about differences while also appealing to those who love cats. Its easy to read and the illustrations are very simple but colorful which is perfect for little ones.

Nicole Hadley (380 KP) rated Nickelodeon Pandemonium #1 in Books

Nickelodeon Pandemonium #1 by Eric Esquivel, Stefan Petrucha is a quirky comic that early teen readers will enjoy. This book was a quick and easy read. The book is full of puns, jokes, silliness and action. In this book the reader is given 12 different comics. Before the comic this is a short biography interview of some of the authors and illustrators. This book will be entertaining to readers to like comedy and graphic novels.
I give this book 4/5 stars.

Kristin (149 KP) rated Strange Little Girls in Books

Disclaimer: I received an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
The title definitely doesn't lie -- these are some STRANGE little girls. Each story is so different from the last, and they all suck you in and don't let up until the end. There are even a couple I could see being turned into at least a novella on their own, as I would love to read more about that particular girl's story.
Really interesting read, and since it's a collection of short stories, you can read a little bit at a time and not forget where you are.

My first comment when I finished this book "well that was different" - I dont know why I always feel that way after reading a Rowell book, and none will ever compare to Eleanor and Park for me so none will get 5 stars but this book was kind of adorable. It was also kind of stalkerish and I feel like I should have more issues with that then I did - I mean talk about awkward. It technically all made sense in the end but I was like, wow, this is too much sometimes - ah well, can't win em all

Roxanne (13 KP) rated The Ladybird Book of Dating in Books

❃❃❃❃❃ 5 Hilarious Stars
Due to my lack of participation in the dating world, my father decided to purchase this book for me to give me some pointers. Now THIS was hilarious!
Done in the style of the all popular 'LadyBird Book Of' series complete with the traditional artwork and a dash of British humour this is definitely one to pick up. It goes through what you should expect from dating in this day and age in a very honest manner, which is just perfect. It's in your face, it's raw and it's guaranteed to give you a giggle.

Roxanne (13 KP) rated My Mini Midwife: Everything You Need to Know About Pregnancy and Birth in Books
Nov 9, 2018
This book is all you need for everything you need or want to know about you and your bump. I would recommend this to every pregnant lady. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it is aimed at the 'traditional' pregnancy with the 'traditional' family plan...not with any support to an unplanned pregnancy or perhaps a single mother to be. This is probably not intentionally one sided but it would have been even more helpful with some information perhaps dedicated to a family which may not necessarily be seen as 'the norm'.

Roxanne (13 KP) rated Pray For Silence (Kate Burkholder, #2) in Books
Nov 14, 2018
I didn't think things could get any better after the first book but I have to say that this one is even better than the first one, I was very happily surprised I must say. It was more intense, it was more gruesome and the character development was just brilliant. I love the developing relationship between the two main characters, their relationship is very realistic and troublesome which keeps things very interesting. I am very much looking forward to the next one in the series as I think (after reading this one) it's going to get even better! 5 stars from me!
