Very good SFX
Very funny
Kiefer Sutherland
Cool soundtrack
Death by stereo!
What's not to love about this film? A very cool Vampire film and exactly how a Vampire film should be. It still looks great today the effects don't look dated. The Vampires look like how you expect them to. It has some iconic scenes and great dialogue, not to mention funny as well. One of my fave Kiefer Sutherland films in one of his earlier roles. The rest of the young cast have great chemistry. It also has some great songs to cap it off. It simply oozes coolness and class, a true 80's cult classic!

Lovely wee story
The novel is told from the perspective of Maude, a lady in her 80's with dementia. The reader experiences the frustration that the protagonist feels because of her poor short term memory, yet there is this brilliant back story. Yes, Elizabeth is missing, but so is Sukie, Maude's big sister who disappeared when they were both young. Switching between the present and the past enhances the story, showing how certain triggers can support long term memory in dementia patients. Lovely wee story. Brilliant gripping beginning, a bit slow in the middle and great ending. Worth a read.

It's been a very long time since I have seen this and it is certainly not comparable to Eddie Murphy's 80's classics (Beverly Hills Cop/Coming To America etc.). It's not particularly funny and the plot is a rather odd mix of far eastern mysticism and Murphy wisecracks with some very surreal moments (the dancing Pepsi can /demon Charles Dance). For me it's a bit of a mess and overall doesn't really work. It's not boring though and keeps you relatively entertained even if just to see what weird shit is going to happen next but it's definitely at the lower end of the scale of Eddie Murphy movies.

Good concept
Great music
Futuristic
Good concept
I really like the rules and concept of hotel artemis. The characters were good and likeable for the most part, it was easy to follow along but not always obviously set out. I loved the futuristic feel of the hospital.
I think the story of the old family member could have been explored more and the ending was exceptionally neat, over quickly. The music was good, I don't know if it's the genres we are watching but everyone seems to be blasting 80's music in fight scenes now - not neccessart all the time.

Rooster Teeth cast cameos
Give a bunch of gamer enough money to create a horror film...
So the Rooster Teeth team created a horror movie... we know the create some epic entertainment that doesn’t take itself seriously (Red vs. Blue, RWBY). Now give them the means to create the horror movie we’ve all discussed when hanging out... all the ideas in one... then use a festival so it makes sense for so many different horror genres to collide in one movie.
Reminiscent of the B-movies of the 60s-80’s that now hold “Iconic Cult Status” & that’s what you get from this film.

Great Performances (1 more)
Very suspenseful
Mind hunting with intelligence.
A great second season, definitely on a par with the first if not slightly better.
Set in the late 1970s and early 80's the story follows the early stages of the Behavioral Science Unit and how they developed the profiling of criminals by talking to the serial killers who were behind bars.
Season 2 managed to top the first and also leave room got some great character development especially with the Tench family storyline. Great acting by everyone involved making it a very cerebral drama with very little action but riveting all the same.

Bob Mann (459 KP) rated Dora and the Lost City of Gold (2019) in Movies

A fun family movie.
Here’s a film that is not trying to be anything other than a fun and much needed summer outing for families. Disney used to do this sort of live-action family film thing so well in the 70’s and 80’s, before they got obsessed with pointless recreations of their cartoon classics.
The director is James Bobin, who’s formerly directed a number of the Muppet movies, and this movie breathes with the same sense of anarchic fun without being too up itself.
The film occasionally makes you cringe, with some dreadfully (and deliberately) naff songs, but I enjoyed it and for the right audience (kids 8 to 12) I think they’ll have a blast.
