Early gung ho Keanu movie that is not ageing well at all, the premise is a clever twist on the usual disaster movies and Dennis Hopper is always great at playing his usual antagonistic role.
Sandra Bullock rounds off the cast with Jeff Daniel's in very much a supporting role.. a non essential 80s flick.

Promising concept buried under clumsy craftsmanship
A great concept that should in theory be catnip to an 80s kid such as myself. However this is to pop culture junkies what Fifty Shades of Gray was to S&M enthusiasts: poorly written, drawn out fan fiction that is in dire need of a more competent editor.
The 80s pop culture references are so clumsily laid on, they lose any fun they may have held for me after the first chapter.
Sure, the author has done his research, but this reads as if it was written by a machine trying to approximate human emotion and interaction; technical pitches for gadgets yet to be commissioned in place of wit, story and heart.
Very disappointing.

Prequel film to Michael Bay's Transformers series of films based on 80s cartoons, and a strong contender for the best of the bunch!
With Michael Bay handing over directing duties to Travis Knight, it's actually possible to see what is happening on most of the action sequences now, with those sequences not as frenetic or as bombastic as before.
This is also smaller in scale, with only Bumblebee (that's the yellow Transformer) himself and a few Decepticons sharing the screen, although Optimus Prime does get a cameo and a few mentions!
I also got a very 80s, very Amblin-esque vibe from the whole thing, very much due to it's small self-contained setting and themes of family and growing up!

Hilarity ensues as this Johnny Depp 80s show gets a new spin and comedy injection.
I would never have thought the unlikely duo of Tatum and Hill would work but it does and beautifully as this film takes a tongue in cheek approach with clever references to it's source material and also a cameo from Depp.

Brilkiant film for those that love musicals but fed up of same old stuff!
The cast on this film is amazing to start with and then the songs sung by them, the storyline will keep you interested all the way through, its reliving the 80s in the best way!
